What can I do to start a Phd in psychology if I haven’t done any fundamental courses in the subject?

I’m interested in psychology. I like to read up on the subject matter. However, I’ve got an MA in applied linguistics and an BA in communications. I’m now teaching EFL.
ps: I’m interested in American universities but am open to ones in other countries.
